Volunteer Workday: Girty’s Woods Trail Blazing
August 15 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Paint your way through Girty’s Woods
Mile by mile, volunteers have been building and maintaining Girty’s Woods’ network of hiking trails. It’s time to paint! Volunteers will hike together painting blazes on trees and install painted stakes in areas where there aren’t ideal trees to blaze. We need folks who are willing and able to work as a team and carry heavy wooden stakes through the woods for up to five miles. Together, we’ll ensure that explorers stay the course in Girty’s Woods.
Registration is required to participate, and volunteers must arrive on time. Long pants and close-toed shoes are required. Long sleeves and a hat are recommended to protect from sun and bugs. Tools and gloves will be provided, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own gear if they prefer. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Water and light snacks will be available. Please bring a full water bottle and consider packing a picnic to make a day of it!
Registrants will receive a follow-up email with more details.
