Volunteer Workday: Girty’s Trails

Help expand and maintain Girty’s trail network!
Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes
Join Allegheny Land Trust for a volunteer workday at Girty’s Woods. Volunteers will clear vegetation and debris and build tread for new trail to expand the existing trail network. Participants will use pruners, loppers, handsaws, rakes, and grub hoes. Tasks may vary from cutting limbs/vines to weed-whacking to benching. There’s something for everyone and all experience and ability levels are welcome!
- Rain or shine, but ALT will cancel in case of thunderstorms.
- Dress for muddy conditions and wear close-toed shoes. Long pants and sleeves are recommended to avoid poison ivy or ticks.
- ALT provides all tools and extra water. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
- No Bathrooms on site.
- Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
- Access the property through Irwin Lane, driving past the gate and cell tower to park on the property. Follow event signs for parking.
