Science Stroll: City Nature Challenge

April 26 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Interested in learning how to utilize the biodiversity logging app iNaturalist? Join an ALT Educator on a hike where we’ll discuss how to properly use the app, as well as begin logging some of the biodiversity of Girty’s Woods as part of the 2025 City Nature Challenge (CNC). The CNC is a worldwide challenge to see which countries and cities can log the most biodiversity over the course of one weekend. Pittsburgh’s goal? Beat Philly and Cleveland! Check out the 2024 statistics here: City Nature Challenge 2024: Pittsburgh Region · iNaturalist

Please have iNaturalist downloaded on your phone and have an account created prior to arriving for the hike.

No walk ins will be permitted. Hike runs rain or shine. Drive to the end of Irwin Lane and you will see an open gate. Drive through the open gate and park in the grassy area just past. ALT staff will guide you. Please do not park along Irwin Lane.
