Girty’s Woods- Tree Planting
May 30 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Restore native tree canopy in Girty’s Woods!
Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes.
Take a tree for a walk in the woods! Volunteers will be planting bare-root trees throughout Girty’s Woods, restoring forest in areas where we are retiring old, unsustainably built trails. These trails have sunlight and space; the perfect place for a young tree to put down roots.
Volunteers will use dibble bars to plant small bare-root trees. Tools and gloves will be provided. Long pants and close-toed shoes are required. Volunteers can expect to hike up to three miles on varied terrain. Please bring a re-useable water bottle and dress to protect yourself from sun and ticks.
Workdays are rain or shine but will be rescheduled in the event of thunderstorms or high winds.
