TRY IT! Beginner’s Mushroom Walk at Girty’s Woods

Join ALT staff and WPMC Identifier, Julie Travaglini, for a beginner’s mushroom walk at Girty’s Woods, as part of the Outdoor Inclusion Coalition’s TRY IT! Series. This is not a traditional guided hike. After an introduction, participants will search for our fungal friends to collect for a beginner friendly identification table at the end of the program.
Hike runs rain or shine. NO WALK-INS will be permitted. We will not be foraging on this hike or discussing edibility. Foraging for mushrooms can be risky and it is never safe to eat a wild mushroom unless an expert confirms the identity.
Specific parking instructions will be included in your reminder email the week of the event. Please do not park along Irwin Lane! The gate will be open for you to park inside the property lines.
