Overview

This 14-acre property provides excellent views of the town of Boston across the river. Yough Slopes sits along the inside bend of the Youghiogheny River and is a prominent fixture in the area for river views. Preserving such a visible greens pace helps property values and promotes a larger culture that values conservation of the environment.

Parking is very limited. The property offers a short trail, habitat, and steep wooded slope protection, as well as commanding views of Yough River Valley. Restricted hunting is permitted at Yough Slopes. We ask that hunters please read our Hunting Policy and apply for a free permit before hunting on any Conservation Area.

Background

This donated property runs along the right descending bank of the Youghiogheny River. It contains steep, rocky slopes and nesting habitat for turkey, deer and hawks that perch high in the trees to survey the valley corridor.
