Volunteer Workday: Earth Day at Girty’s Woods

Kick off Earth Week on the trails of Girty’s Woods!
Volunteers will join ALT to celebrate Earth Day and improve Girty’s Woods
Join Allegheny Land Trust for a volunteer workday at Girty’s Woods. Volunteers will improve the woods by removing invasives and clearing the way for sustainable trails. Participants will use loppers, handsaws, and hand pull plants.
- Rain or shine, but ALT will cancel in case of thunderstorms.
- Dress for muddy conditions and wear close toed shoes. Long pants and sleeves are recommended to avoid poison ivy or ticks.
- ALT provides all tools and extra water. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
- No Bathrooms on site.
- Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
- Access the property through Irwin Lane, driving past the gate and cell tower to park on the property. Follow event signs for parking.
