Trail Building: Girty’s Woods

Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes.

Join ALT’s Stewardship Team in Girty’s Woods to bench some portions of trail. Volunteers will use rakes, hoes, and mattocks to create a flat, walkable surface on steeper portions of Girty’s trail system.

This volunteer event is open to anyone interested in Girty’s Woods or trail building. Existing trail skills are a bonus but not required; we’ll learn by doing!

Volunteers should expect to hike several miles on varied terrain. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Long sleeves and a brimmed hat are recommended. Tools and gloves will be provided, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own gear if they prefer.

Workdays are rain or shine but will be rescheduled in the event of thunderstorms or high winds.
