Lunch and Learn Webinar: Phenology Volunteer Info Session

September 26 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Trillium flower in the woods.

Do you remember the joy you feel when you notice the first spring wildflowers beginning to break through the soil, or when you notice lots of plump, fuzzy caterpillars? These instances are recurrent events that respond to climate. Phenology is the study of seasonal changes and lifecycle events, and we are examining how plant populations at Barking Slopes are responding to their environment.

Join ALT’s certified local phenology leader and Environmental Education Associate Sara to learn more about a project underway at Barking Slopes Conservation Area. We’ll introduce the technology being used, the plants under study, and why phenology is important. This virtual training is useful for those looking to join the project or simply learn more about phenology and different plant species! On September 28th, we’ll have an in-person field training session at Barking Slopes Conservation Area for those who are interested in becoming a phenology volunteer!

We are not recording this webinar, but it will be streamed to Facebook.
