World Rewilding Day: Invasive Plant Species Workday

March 20 @ 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Learn to identify and manage invasive plant species at Churchill Valley Greenway

Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes.

Join ALT’s education and stewardship departments for a collaborative effort on World Rewilding Day! As our efforts continue to rewild the former country club, it’s necessary to manage the invasive plant species. This workday will focus on teaching volunteers to properly identify some of the most pervasive invasive plant species found in our region as well as best practices for management and removal of these plants.

This workday is for anyone interested in hands-on learning and also serves as a training session for stewards who want to make ongoing contributions to habitat restoration at Churchill Valley Greenway.

  • Meet at the large upper parking lot
  • Wear close-toed shoes, long pants and sleeves
  • Rain or shine, but we will cancel in the event of thunderstorms
  • Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult
  • Gloves and tools will be provided, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own if they choose
  • No restrooms on site
  • Bring a reusable water bottle
