Volunteer Tree Census at Linbrook Woodlands
March 29 @ 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes.
Citizen scientists are invited to assist ALT’s stewardship team in the collection of data on trees that were planted in autumn of 2024. Observe, record, and ID trees and shrubs for inclusion in the Pittsburgh Canopy Alliance’s body of work monitoring the benefits of trees planted in the region. Volunteers interested in participating in ALT’s new Tree Stewardship Program are encouraged to participate in this group effort.
Volunteers will need to provide their own gps-enabled phone for collecting accurate location data. We will be crossing Big Sewickley Creek on foot, which can range in depth from ankle- to knee-high. Please dress for the weather and wear muck boots or waders.
This event will take place rain or shine, but we will reschedule in case of thunderstorms or high water levels. Please bring a reusable water bottle. There are no restrooms on site.
