Invasive Plant Workday at Wingfield Pines
March 15 @ 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Protect the wetlands of Wingfield Pines
Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes.
Join ALT’s stewardship team to manage invasive multiflora rose at Wingfield Pines. We’ll be working to reduce the population of this plant early in the growing season, before they produce flowers, to prevent further spread. Invasive plant management is crucial to protecting and improving the diverse, healthy wetland habitat.
Volunteers will work with pruners, loppers, shovels, and saws to remove multiflora rose. Tools and gloves will be provided. Participants should dress appropriately for working in thorny and muddy conditions.
This event will take place rain or shine, but we will cancel in case of thunderstorms or high water levels. Children are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a reusable water bottle. There are no restrooms on site.
