Invasive Plant Management Volunteer Workday: Churchill Valley Greenway

Join ALT’s Stewardship team for a morning of invasive plant management at our beloved Churchill Valley Greenway. As we continue to restore habitat and reintroduce native plant species, invasive plant species must be managed and removed to support a healthy ecosystem. Volunteers will assist with the removal of invasive plant species that are growing in a reforestation area.
Participants can expect to hike up to a mile on mixed terrain and navigate in tall grasses and flowers. Volunteers will use loppers, handsaws, shovels, and rakes to completely remove invasive plants such as barberry, privet, and mile-a-minute vine.
Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Long sleeves and a hat are recommended. There are no restrooms or garbage cans on site. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Event day details will be sent to registrants via email.
