Tree Steward Program Field Training- Venango Trail
June 20 @ 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Hands-on training to become an ALT Tree Steward
Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes.
ALT’s Tree Stewardship program is a volunteer-powered effort to collect data on and care for restoration trees at ALT’s conservation areas. Tree Stewards receive the tools and training to tend to thousands of restoration trees across Allegheny County to ensure a healthy, thriving canopy.
Field training sessions are small group workdays to familiarize new and current Tree Stewards with all aspects of the program; data collection, tagging, deer protection maintenance, and tree care.
Long pants and close-toed shoes are required and long sleeves are recommended. Tools, gloves, and light snacks will be provided. Please bring a reusable water bottle and a fully charged cellphone. Volunteers can expect to walk up to two miles on varied terrain. There are no restrooms on site.
Workdays will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
