ALT & COVID-19
last updated 5/6/2020 at 9 a.m.
The health, wellness and safety of all ALT visitors, volunteers and staff are our top priority. As we continue to follow this fluid situation with COVID-19, we will adhere to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, PA Department of Health, and local authorities.
At this time, all ALT conservation areas are open to the public for passive outdoor recreation from dawn to dusk. We do not encourage group outings at this time and recommend everyone follows recommended guidelines associated with social distancing. Please bring a mask to keep yourself and fellow trail users safe when a green space is busier than anticipated.
We will not hold any environmental education or volunteer events between now and May 31th. Individual participants of impacted events will be notified of cancellations via email, and events will be rescheduled when possible. Fees associated with classes will be refunded if desired by the participant. Our environmental education team is hosting free webinars for adults and kids to stay engaged in nature-based programming while at home.
Events beyond May 31 are under review and may be cancelled or rescheduled depending on the recommendation of state and local health officials. Attendees of impacted events will be notified. We will release more information on this page in the coming weeks.
ALT’s office will be closed through May 31. ALT personnel are working from home, and will have access to email and phone messages. There may be some delay in responding, so please be patient with us.
During these uncertain times, we wanted to make sure our conservation areas remained open and available for anyone looking to lower stress levels, entertain your children/grandchildren with a walk, or take an opportunity to reconnect with nature.
Thank you for continuing to support ALT and please be safe and well.
The ALT Team
