Together we’ll restore a scenic hiking route to a green space that supports native wildlife and promotes the health and wellbeing of its neighbors. \nWeek 1: Volunteers will use rakes\, hoes\, and mattocks to widen\, level\, and define the tread of a trail which was roughly built in the spring of 2025. \nVolunteers should expect to hike about two miles on varied terrain. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Long sleeves and a brimmed hat are recommended. Tools and gloves will be provided\, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own gear if they prefer. \nWorkdays are rain or shine but will be rescheduled in the event of thunderstorms or high winds. \n\nTICKETS

This series focuses on living a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle through at-home sustainability practices. This workshop will focus on identifying common garden/yard pests and invasive species and outline creative (non-chemical and sometimes even silly-sounding) ways to manage them. \nEach attending participant will receive one set of materials to help them get started at home (valued at $100!). Children under 18 are not eligible to receive the materials; please do not purchase a ticket for any children that may be in attendance with you. You must be present for the entire workshop to receive the provided materials. No walk-ins are permitted. \nGenerous funding and support for this series was provided by the EQT Foundation. \nTICKETS \nFind the whole series here.

SUMMARY:Invasive Plant Management- Churchill Valley Greenway
DESCRIPTION:Protect the greenway from invasive vine species\n\nRegistration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes. \nChurchill Valley Greenway\, the former site of a golf course and country club\, is steadily re-wilding with the care of stewards and volunteers. A common sight on disturbed lands are invasive plants\, which can outcompete the native flora and be a detriment to native wildlife. Join us to tackle one invasive plant species in particular: Mile-a-Minute vine (Persicaria perfoliata). \nVolunteers will use gloves and garbage bags to uproot vines and remove them from the greenway. Preventing the spread of this fast-growing invasive plant species will aid in our restoration efforts in the forests and meadows of Churchill Valley Greenway\, and we can’t do it without you! \nVolunteers can expect to walk up to two miles mostly on paved walking paths and are asked to work at their own pace and comfort level. Tools and gloves will be provided. Light snacks and water will be provided; please bring your own reuseable water bottle. Closed toe shoes and long pants are required. Due to the prickly nature of mile-a-minute vine\, long sleeves are recommended. There are no restrooms on site. \n\nTICKETS
