DESCRIPTION:Join ALT staff and WPMC Identifier Julie for a mushroom hunt and ID table at Dead Man’s Hollow! This will not be a traditional guided hike. Instead\, after a brief introduction at the start\, attendees will be off on their own to search for fungi and slime molds to bring back to an identification table at the end. We’ll then learn about the fascinating fungi that everyone found! \nHike runs rain or shine\, NO WALK INS will be permitted. Please pull through the first gravel lot and park in the second lot closer to the trails and the kiosk. \nWe will not be foraging on this hike or discussing edibility. Foraging for mushrooms can be risky and it is never safe to eat a wild mushroom unless an expert confirms the identity. \nTICKETS

DESCRIPTION:Join ALT staff and WPMC Identifier Julie Travaglini for a mushroom talk and identification walk at Fern Hollow Nature Center. After a short introductory lecture indoors on fungi\, participants will look for mushrooms around Fern Hollow and collect specimens for an ID table. \nHike runs rain or shine\, NO WALK INS will be permitted. As this hike is beginner friendly\, we will be using the mushrooms common names and looking at distinguishing features to being identifying mushrooms. \nWe will not be foraging on this hike or discussing edibility. Foraging for mushrooms can be risky and it is never safe to eat a wild mushroom unless an expert confirms the identity. \n\nPlease note: As of July 1\, 2026 individual program ticket sale transactions under $25 are non-refundable.
