SUMMARY:Invasive Plant Management Volunteer Workday: Churchill Valley Greenway
DESCRIPTION:Join ALT’s Stewardship team for a morning of invasive plant management at our beloved Churchill Valley Greenway. As we continue to restore habitat and reintroduce native plant species\, invasive plant species must be managed and removed to support a healthy ecosystem. Volunteers will assist with the removal of invasive plant species that are growing in a reforestation area. \n\nParticipants can expect to hike up to a mile on mixed terrain and navigate in tall grasses and flowers. Volunteers will use loppers\, handsaws\, shovels\, and rakes to completely remove invasive plants such as barberry\, privet\, and mile-a-minute vine. \nLong pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Long sleeves and a hat are recommended. There are no restrooms or garbage cans on site. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Event day details will be sent to registrants via email. \nTICKETS

DESCRIPTION:Volunteers will hike several miles on mixed terrain and use loppers\, saws\, and rakes to open up a new trail corridor.Water and light snacks will be available. Please bring a full water bottle and consider packing a picnic to make a day of it! \nRegistration is required to participate\, and volunteers must arrive on time. Long pants and close-toed shoes are required. Long sleeves and a hat are recommended to protect from sun and bugs. Tools and gloves will be provided\, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own gear if they prefer.
