SUMMARY:Volunteer BYO-Boat Workday: Sycamore Island Invasives
DESCRIPTION:Join ALT’s Field Coordinator and Sycamore Island’s Lead Steward for a day of care and restoration. Sycamore Island is a beautiful success story of conservation and restoration\, and the story continues! Volunteers are invited to join us on the island to help manage invasive Asiatic Bittersweet while we manage Giant Knotweed elsewhere on the island. Learn a bit about the story of Sycamore Island and how ALT manages different species of invasive plants. The campsite will be reserved for any participants who wish to stay and make an adventure of it! \nParticipants must provide their own watercraft and PFD to access Sycamore Island. Registration is required to participate\, and volunteers must arrive on time. Long pants and close-toed shoes are required. Long sleeves and a hat are recommended to protect from sun and bugs. Tools and gloves will be provided\, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own gear if they prefer. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \nWater and light snacks will be available.
