SUMMARY:Aquatic Academy: Water Treatment Learning Lab
DESCRIPTION:A water science and infrastructure workshop for educators\n  \n\nJoin ALT and Pittsburgh Water for this dynamic one-day educator workshop hosted at Pittsburgh Water’s treatment facility. This immersive experience will equip teachers with valuable insights into water quality\, treatment processes\, and how we protect our vital water resources. Educators will also explore current and future trends related to the STEELS standards\, climate change\, and water education through hands-on learning. The day will conclude with expert special topic presentations and resources and guidance on introducing students to careers in the water industry\, emphasizing the importance of workforce development in this vital sector. \nApproximately $100 worth of resources will be given to educators in attendance. You must register to attend\, no walk-ins will be permitted. You must show up and attend the entire day to receive your resources. \n5.5 hours of ACT 48 are available. Lunch is provided. \nYou will be required to sign a waiver to enter the water treatment plant. \nFinancial and other support for the Aquatic Academy has been provided by the Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Education Grants Program. \nTickets
