Sustainability at Home Series: Rain Barrels with PRC

March 9 @ 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Join ALT for round two of this popular series of workshops; The Sustainability at Home Series! These workshops will focus on living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle through at home sustainability practices. This workshop is being offering by the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) and will focus on practicing watershed protection and conservation in your own backyard. It’s easier than you think!

Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water, to supply non-chlorinated water for gardening, and to keep excess water out of the stormwater system, thus alleviating some of the stormwater issues plaguing the region. Workshop attendees will learn about the watershed, problems associated with stormwater runoff, ways to conserve and preserve water in their landscapes, and watershed friendly landscaping techniques.

Participants will receive a pre-made FreeGarden RAIN 55-gallon rain barrel. Designed with the homeowner/gardener in mind, it is attractive, and easy to install.

No walk ins will be permitted.

Generous funding and support for this series was provided by the EQT Foundation.
