Who We Are

We are an independent Pennsylvania non-profit corporation created in 1993 by Allegheny County to protect land of natural value. Our mission is to serve as the lead land trust conserving and stewarding lands that support the scenic, recreational, and environmental well-being of communities in Allegheny County and its environs.

We are a nationally-accredited, conservation land trust, which helps local people save local land. We do this for the benefit of future generations to ensure our communities will have clean water to drink, fresh air to breathe, and maintained trails to recreate on.

Our assets are our people and our places. We are made up of a talented and knowledgeable team of staff, Board of Directors, and hundreds of volunteers all offering thousands of hours of dedication to our mission and passion for conservation. Our conservation areas are sprinkled throughout Allegheny and Washington Counties in communities, and are neighbored by passionate residents who become our volunteers, donors, and explorers.
